Policy on discrimination in the workplace
Ege University aims to achieve gender equality consistently in different university units. In addition to having Women Application and Research Center of Women Studies, Ege Women's Studies Society, and Ege University Gender Equality Support and Sexual Harassment Prevention Board, the activeness of these units in national and international studies have been essential steps taken to ensure gender equality. In order to reach wider audiences and ensure gender equality, Ege University continues its work in various fields such as science, technology, education, law, sociology, economy, culture, and women's health. An internal audit was carried out for the Gender Equality Plan, and the 2022-2025 Ege University Gender Equality Plan was prepared to achieve the following goals.
Goals:
- It knows that eliminating all kinds of discrimination against women and girls within the framework of gender equality is not only a human right but also of great importance for accelerating sustainable development, and it carries out its goals and plans in this direction.
- It supports scientific studies carried out in different units regarding gender equality.
- It includes units and centers within its body and carries out its activities to prevent violence against women and protect women's rights in the context of gender equality.
- It provides care opportunities at affordable prices for the children of university staff and students.
- It supports the policy of non-discrimination within the framework of gender equality.
- It organizes national and international events related to gender equality, participates in the circumstances, and cooperates with institutions and organizations.
- It supports the non-sexualization of professions.
- It carries out academic studies to spread gender equality awareness to the public.
- It supports increasing the number of senior academics, taking into account gender equality.
- It aims to promote gender equality in every unit of the university.
